INCEPTION. So I heard about this movie from internet, from magazine and I heard it was awesome. Almost got 5 stars. So I wondered; Why on earth I still haven't watched it? Then after I watched Dream House, I strode down the hallway and found myself in the nearest Speedy and bought the movie. And I went home and I watched and it was...freaking awesome! AWESOME I tell ya! Why? Read below!
Plot: In a world (our world) where people can create dreams and walk inside it, there is one man - a con artist named Cobb (I forgot his first name). He is an extractor. He is capable to take some documents, confidential information from someone's mind by only dreaming. Hard to understand? Okay let's put it in this way; You want to know your friend's Facebook's password (Why? I don't know. You tell me.) but he/she won't tell you. It was a secret after all. Anyhow, you put him into a deep slumber, and create a dream where you and him/her are inside the dream. So since you're in a dream, you capable to do extraordinary things but you have to stay low or your friend will know it is a dream. So you go and try to find the safety room which has your friend's Facebook's password. In order to have it, you have to make sure that the 'Dream World' is his/her 'Reality World'. If you good - like Cobb here - you will have it. Okay. That's the basic. Back to the Inception, Cobb is actually failed (Dang it!) in his last mission and now is blackmailed not to extract the info but to plan the idea into someone's mind (in this movie, it's Robert Fischer - the Mark). People think it is impossible but not to Cobb - he has done it once, but that once was his greatest mistake.
Characters: Inception is directed by Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight is one of his movies) and has many famous actors and actresses. From Leonardo DiCaprio (he's popular with Titanic but I like him in Shutter Island AND Inception) to Joseph Gordon-Levitt (a cute man from 500 Days of Summer) to Ellen Page (best known in Juno) to Ken Watanabe (the Last Samurai!) and Marion Cotillard (have you watched Nine? Try watch it.) They are freaking cool in Inception - especially Joseph Gordon-Levitt :P
Moral values: Dream can be deceiving. You may think it's great to live in a dream but it's hard to wake up into the Reality World. Cobb has tried it with his wife and when he realized that their dream is too long (they lived in Dream World for decades!), he tried to find the solution. The solution is to die (if you want to go back to the Reality World, you have to be 'kicked' or die. By any means, die). However, something happened (won't tell you the spoiler he he he) and he lost his family. Even though I said this thing, I think living in a dream isn't bad. You can be a superhero in a dream, you can daydream about your celebrity crush and you will be always happy in your Dream World. There's only one catch; you cannot live in a dream forever, in the end, you have to wake up.
Ratings: 5 out of 5. Yup. I mean it. Inception has everything; an awesome idea, an enchanting graphic and powerful characters. Everyone has their own roles and Christopher Nolan brings the movie alive with his directing skills. You will have 'WOW' moments and the ending is something to talk about. I recommend you to watch this movie now - it's not a tedious movie (some said that but who cares? They don't watch this yet!) or just some sceptical movie; it's an art.
p/s: Inception is the second in my 'must-watch' list. The first one is Pan's Labyrinth. I don't care it's in Spanish - subtitle always helps :)
