I have watched a few movies during my hiatus but I was so lazy to update my blog, writing the review about the movies. But no worries, from all those movies, I will choose two movies that left marks inside my heart and mind.
The first movie is, as the title said is 50/50. My two gorgeous ladies (R and Leesa) and I went to TGV Pavilion to watch this movie. Since we traveled quite far to KL only to watch this movie, I expected the movie to be awesome. And it was.
Plot: There is one guy named Adam who lived in a very, very normal life. He works, he has a girlfriend, a best friend, he doesn't smoke, he's jogging every morning, he takes safety in every single thing he does - he lives in his perfect world until one day, he diagnosed with a rare cancer growing inside his backbone. He soon learned he had 50/50 chances of living; and dying.
Characters: Joseph Gordon-Levitt played as Adam (watch him in 500 Days of Summer), Seth Rogen as his partner-in-crime (the superhero in Green Hornet), Bryce Dallas Howard as his ungrateful girlfriend (Spiderman 3) and Anna Kendrick as his therapist (Twilight saga). Joseph (my favorite man alive!) acted so good that in some points, I almost cried. He brought Adam's character with so much emotions. In fact, my personal favorite scenes would be the scene when he embraced his father who had Alzheimer and the scene when he snapped and showed his true feelings at his best friend.
Moral Values: There are a lot moral values in 50/50 but the obvious value I found throughout this movie is life is one time and one time only. You can't live forever and what you did in your lifetime, it will be just that. Usual Adam was a calm person but when he knew his chances of surviving, he did some things he wouldn't do such as smoking weeds, random sex (it's weird when I typed the word here) and burnt a painting (one of the awesome scenes!).
Ratings: 4 out of 5 points. The first 30 minutes were a bit slow but the characters were developed systematically. This movie is a mix of comedy and tragedy and I'm not a fan of comedy with tragedy but in this movie, the combination was delivered well. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was extra hot in Inception but in 50/50, he brought his lovely charm.
